Holiday workshops are a way to spend time on a project and “waste” time, appropriate and tame the topic, experiment with the process, choose your own direction, and then come home with something constructed and finished.
These camps mix observation and discovery with drawing, and scientific method of enquiery. The scientific learning is intuitive, allowing the participants to research deeper on the topic if they have raised an exciting question. Children are given space to explore each in their own direction, but most of the time enjoy being part of a “team” of researchers. Art time gives them a chance to express themselves as individuals too.
Some camps try to mix children from different backgrounds for a different experience. Also, the camps are usually open to a wide age group, from 6 to 12 years old, with the idea that the younger ones will learn from the older ones, and the older ones might learn by teaching the younger ones.
Size: groups can be up to 15 participants, depending on the topic. A critical size will be required before the camp starts, because a small group is no fun!
Please fill in the form below if you would like to be kept informed of future camps
