Greeting Card 2013

L’Observatoire wishes you a year filled with curious endeavours to investigate!

l’Observatoire will be closed until the 14th of January (If you want to follow my adventures while away, I invite you to ready the Malay Scientist’s blog).

  • The regular drawing classes will resume on Tuesday 15th of January. The regular classes will continue, and some new classes have been added,  for the 4 year-olds, for older children and for adult beginners. There are also some places in the on-going classes. So, go and check the schedule and the calendar and sign-up below if you would like to start in the drawing classes.
  • The next holiday camp will happen in April, from 8 to 12th, where we will continue to investigate wild plants, and wonder about weeds. Check the details here.
  • The Tinkering Sundays will start soon… in the meantime, you may book a workshop at our venue to tinker or to make. Groups of adults or children are welcome, Saturdays or Sundays. Just fill in the form below.

Do come and check out the Blue House Village opening tomorrow! We will be presenting an exhibition of drawings by the students, constructions built during the last explorer camps, as well as hands-on activities such as special DISSECTIONS (of non-living things… so, no blood!).

Timing:

9:15 – 11:15 (reserved for students) – Open Studio

11:15 – 12:00 (Open to the public, free) – Student Exhibition Dissection workshop

12:00 – 1pm (Reserved for students) – Intermediate 7+ drawing class

1-2 pm (Open to the public, free) – Student Exhibition Dissection workshop

This is the first entry in this blog, to celebrate the birth of L’Observatoire in Singapore, under the Blue House School .

The Observatoire will be run by artist-scientist Isabelle Desjeux, and is a branch of Isadora’s Workshop, focusing on art and science as tools of discovery and learning.

We will be located in Bukit Timah, at the edge of the jungle, as part of the Blue House Village, and plans are underway for the place to be ready in September…

Check back soon to see what programs are being offered, from classes for kids and professionals, holiday camps, workshops for families, partnerships, and community events.
